We appreciate everyone who is making the trip from out of town to celebrate with us! Here are some things to do around town:
Things to do:
Steam Whistle Brewery – Pairs great with a Jays game before or after.
Toronto Islands – Great place to walk along the water, enjoy a picnic, or go sailing!
St. Lawrence Market – Built in 1850, the market houses a variety of vendors selling specialty food products, flowers and specialty items. A particular favourite of ours are the cheese shops.  Also check out the Ukrainian food store in the basement – almost as good as Geoff’s grandmother’s food!    Â
Royal Ontario Museum – Collection of natural history, art and culture with exhibitions from all around the world.Â
Yorkville – Explore one of Toronto’s most iconic neighbourhoods with high-end boutiques, galleries and great patios! Great for people watching.
Distillery District – Explore the pedestrian-only Distillery District, set in quaint 19th century buildings that once housed a large whiskey distillery. Today, the cobblestone streets are lined with restaurants, bars, art galleries, outdoor sculptures and boutiques.Â
CN Tower – Toronto’s most famous landmark! Check it out from the bottom or take a trip to the top to get a great View From the 6ix.
AGO – One of the largest art museums in North America with more than 95,000 pieces of art from all around the world.      Â
Queen Street – Lined with cute boutiques and unique craft stores. Great way to explore the streets of Downtown Toronto.    Â
Toronto Blue Jays – Only if they’re winning…
Sips & Bites:
Gusto 101 – A Toronto classic for Italian food in the heart of King West! Highly recommend the Kale Salad, Mafalde Al Funghi (Mushroom pasta) and dollar an ounce house wine!
Town Crier – One of Johanna & Geoff’s go-to spots to grab a cheeky pint around the corner from their condo. Over 50 draft beers on tap with traditional German & Belgian pub grub. Not something you hear every day, but try the schnitzel!
The Pilot – Lift off!Â
Bar Hop – Another one of Johanna Geoff’s favourite watering holes around the corner from their condo. Expansive tap list and good food. A great place to try local Ontario craft beers and ciders! Offers ‘optionality’ (had to work in a finance term) given the choice of Peter and King Street locations.
Canoe – Located on the 54th floor of the TD Bank Tower, Canoe has the best views of Toronto and Lake Ontario in the city. This fine-dining experience brings together contemporary Canadian cuisine with dishes to reflect our country’s diverse landscape, history and culture (note the lack of Oxford comma).
Aloette – One of Canada’s top 100 restaurants. Neighbourhood bistro where a taste for haute cuisine meets cravings for cheeseburgers and lemon meringue.Â
Byblos – A contemporary spin on Eastern Mediterranean cuisine and cocktails. Great sharing plates!Â
Koa San Road – Best Thai food in Toronto. Hands down. Â
Kost Restaurant @ Bisha Hotel – Enjoy a bite or glass of wine on this 44th floor rooftop restaurant and bar featuring unparalleled panoramic views of the city.Â
Bar Isabel – Spanish-influenced, creative small plates & extensive wine list in a cozy space.Â
